Madison walked through the fallen snow, looking left and right. It had been Kaylee’s idea to use the trail through the forest; she said no one would follow them. But Madison lost sight of Kaylee for a moment and when she found her again she wasn’t alone…

In the remote forests of Stillwater, Minnesota, you can scream for days and no one will hear you. So when the bodies of two fifteen-year-old girls are discovered frozen in the snow, Special Agent Nikki Hunt is sure the killer is local: someone knew where to hide the girls and thought they would never be found.

Though Nikki hasn’t been home in twenty years, she knows she must take over the case. The Sheriff’s department in Stillwater has already made a mistake by connecting the girls’ murders to those of a famous serial killer, refusing to consider the idea that the killer could be someone from town.

Then another girl’s body is found, a red silk ribbon tied in her hair, and Nikki realizes that the killer has a connection to her own dark past, and the reason she left Stillwater.

Nikki is not the only person in town who wants those secrets to stay hidden. Will she be able to face her demons before another child is taken?

Gripping and spine-chilling, The Girls in the Snow will make you gasp, unable to put it down until the final heart-pounding twist. Perfect for fans of Karin Slaughter, Lisa Gardner and Robert Dugoni.

Great read!Minnesota girl here! This was my first Stacy Green read and I truly enjoyed The Girls in the Snow! Green perfectly captured Stillwater and its surrounding areas, not to mention a Minnesota winter! Nikki’s backstory, while heartbreaking, impacted every aspect of her life and made her relatable to readers (we all have some trauma or past that seems to follow us around, right?) I found myself questioning who the true killer(s) was throughout and have to admit I didn’t expect the ending! I look forward to next Nikki Hunt book!.Score: 4/5

The book really took some twists and turns and while I knew the ended wasn’t going to be what she wanted me to think, I was super shocked, which is great! It was unpredictable, detailed, painted a perfect mental picture for me. I think it would be great as a movie! I really loved this book and look forward to reading more in the Nikki Hunt series!.Score: 5/5

Perfect for crime thriller fans!I'm so glad that I finally got to this one, and I'm eager for book two, "One Perfect Grave" coming February 25th! The Girls in the Snow centers around FBI Special Agent Nikki Hunt, still haunted by her parents’ murders years ago. When Nikki's called upon to return to her hometown to investigate the frozen remains of two young girls, she’s soon questioning everything she thought to be true and those she once trusted above all else. Mark, the man she helped identify as their killer, has appealed his conviction in light of new evidence brought upon by the Innocence Project. Meanwhile, his brother Rory has decided to plead with Nikki to revisit her memories and analyze the facts for herself. But what happens when her past collides with her current case? Nikki knows that while she's still on the hunt for a killer at large, the case of the girls found in the snow must take precedence. This was an incredibly atmospheric read, to the point that I felt chills both from the content and my perceived cold front! Now, while the mystery behind Nikki’s parents’ tragic demise didn't surprise me, I did enjoy the thrilling path leading up to that grand reveal. However, I was utterly shocked to find out what happened to the girls, the why, and the how! I loved the whodunit vibes as well as the beginnings of a romance. I'm hoping book two will further explore this relationship and those on Nikki’s team as I'm anxious to get to know them all a little better! As far as first books go, this was an excellent start to a new series! Perfect for crime thriller fans looking to get lost in a case while cozying up with a blanket and warm drink! An impressive example of how our actions ultimately affect not just our futures but others as well. Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for my complimentary copy of this title. I have voluntarily and honestly reviewed this title..Score: 4/5

Interesting book.Easy read. Good story. Have read some of her other books..Score: 5/5

Strong female protagonistI’ve always been slightly obsessed with detective novels, especially when there is a strong female protagonist. I’ve thought long and hard about the profession and while I’d love the thrill of solving the crimes, I wouldn’t love the dead bodies and danger. But that doesn’t stop me from reading as many crimes novels as I can. In the first book of a new series, Nikki Hunt is an FBI agent specializing in hunting serial killers. She became a law enforcement officer because her parents were murdered and she was the key witness at their trial. She’s quite good at her job and Frost is the only serial killer she’s chased and not caught. She heads to her hometown of Stillwater to investigate a double homicide that shows indications of Frost’s handiwork. As she starts to investigate, she learns the innocence project is investigating the conviction in her parents murder. She needs to focus on the murders that brought her back home, but with her past at every turn, is it possible to stay on task? I can’t imagine all she’s been through and having to focus as she must relive her past. Stacy Green does a great job of weaving the two stories together. I can’t wait to see where the series heads. I recommend this one for all the crime buffs out there.Score: 4/5

SpecialI loved this book. Filled with anguish and unanswered leads, an incompetent sheriff with an ego and plenty of ignorance and stupidity.
