They can resist their attraction…until their hearts rocket them across the blue line.
Timing. Hockey careers are made or broken on it, and mine has taken exceptionally broken road. I’m not a star. I’m a grinder, I work hard, and I’m finally at the point I can put the past behind me and get the fat, long-term contract I deserve.
But my agent—the man who stuck by me through every crash and burn—has had a heart attack. I need another agent now, or my one chance for the good money will slip through my fingers. Kate’s a rookie, but she loves the game like I do, so I pick up the phone. And I wonder if she remembers that one night in Cancun as vividly as I do.
Hockey. All my life I’ve lived it, breathed it, played it. Now it’s my business. As an agent, I’m tied to my phone at all hours, but nothing prepared me to hear Hunter’s voice. The last time I saw him—three years ago—there was a lot of bare skin and horny hormones involved.
I’ve handled it all in my short career—sexism, harassment, being broke, being laughed at. Resisting the attraction between us should be easy. Until it isn’t. And Hunter’s past shakes his confidence hard enough that he could make the worst decision at the worst possible time…

Kelly Jamieson - Talk Hockey to Me Book Reviews
Fun read!I loved the heroine's job in this book. Being a woman sports agent in a predominantly male field made for an intriguing heroine. I liked how the author handled her role. She didn't make her a ball buster, which seems to be the default trait for a strong woman. Instead Kate was a smart, sophisticated and level headed business woman. Kate did have a mothering trait to her but I felt that was a positive to her job. She took care of her clients and they appreciated the attention they got from her. Hunter was a harder character to get to know at first. Not only for the reader but for Kate as well. He showed a lot of growth as the chapters progressed. I'm not usually a fan of flashbacks, but in this case It really shed some light into Kate and Hunter's beginning and allowed us to see past the closed off Hunter. I liked that he wasn't the typical jock. He had layers and some of those layers showed a vulnerable man. The author touched on some delicate matters in this book and I think she did a fantastic job with it..Score: 4/5
Great read!Every time Ms Jamieson comes out with a new hockey book, it’s a good day! This is no different. Kate and Hunter had a history starting in college but, unfortunately, ended when Hunter abruptly left. When they reconnected, it was for business. But, it helped that they had some trust between them which only grew while they were becoming closer. I enjoyed this story with Hunter and Kate. I, especially, appreciated Hunter’s realization of how coping with his continuing issues with a tragic episode and how it affects his life and others. The realization that everyone involved in a tragedy deals with it differently and has a different perspective..Score: 4/5
Sweet & Charming! They both have pasts, they both have secrets and sadness and they both have futures to fight for and save. From the get go, I was drawn into this story. This was full of emotions, friendships, as well as witty banter and steamy scenes. These wonderful broken characters get a second chance at romance and just maybe everything that a HEA can bring. Hunter Morisette works hard for his position on the New Jersey Storm, now with the season over and becoming an unrestricted free agent at the end of June, he needs his agent to get him a great contract that shows him what he is worth, and so that he can stay somewhere longer than a year. But when his agent has a heart attack at the worst time he must quickly get another agent and the only agent he wants is HER! Kate Bridges is in her first year as a Sport Agent and has gone out on her own after some difficulties at an agency. But with her hockey knowledge and building her client base she knows it is just a matter of time before her career will take off. Kate leads with her heart, she cares about her clients and coaches them through their difficulties, as well as getting them to understand the teams side to the contracts and negotiations, although sometimes she may be a tad to mothering. But she is thrown for a loop when her old friend from college Hunter calls for her to be his agent. These two have some crushing history between them, you could call it even sizzling! But with this type of business relationship they will need to not cross the line for both of their careers. Right? Well... you will need to read this to get all the juicy details! At it’s heart, this is a beautiful, sexy romance with heat, humor, and emotion, It also tackles some hard issues of survivor-hood and PTSD, that was done so well. It was great to see another side of professional hockey. The players contracts and negotiations as well as their feelings regarding trades, and learning and adapting to new team mates as well as coaches. I loved Hunter and Kate’s story but then again, Kelly Jamieson hockey novels are some of my favorites out there!.Score: 5/5
AMAZING!OMG this book was amazing! I never wanted it to end! Towards the end I was trying not to rush reading because I knew it would be over soon. 😩 All Hunter has ever known is hockey. While in high school a horrific accident killed most of the players in the bus that were headed home from a tournament. He and two of his buddies were the only survivors. It took Hunter a while to continue with his dream of going into the NHL. His agent has always worked hard for him, however, he just had a heart attack and now Hunter’s contract is almost up and doesn’t have anyone representing him. Remembering his old college friend Kate, who played hockey in college and decided to become a sports agent, is a risk since she’s a rookie, but he trusts her. The last person Kate imagines getting a call from is Hunter. Nothing prepared her for the memories that phone call has instilled where all she can think about is their college trip to Cancun and the wonderful night they spent together. She’s a professional and needs the business. Here she thought she was over him. Kate knows Hunter and she will try to resist him and get him a good contract. It what if she falls for him all over again. Great book! I give it seven stars! I received a copy of this arc in exchange for an honest review..Score: 5/5
Worth the wait! This sweet love story gives us all the sexy we crave but also deals with serious issues of PTSD. It is too short but Kelly’s best always are!.Score: 5/5
Made for each other! This is book 3 in the Bears Hockey series and it features Kate and Hunter. Hunter has issues from when he was younger and is still dealing with them. These two were friends in college and shared one sizzling HOT night. After that night, they didn’t see each other for four years. Now she’s a sports agent and he’s a hockey player in need of an agent. Great story line between once friends and lovers, who haven’t seen each other in years and are learning about each other all over again. I love seeing characters from previous books..Score: 4/5
