It: Chapter Two—now a major motion picture!
Stephen King’s terrifying, classic #1 New York Times bestseller, “a landmark in American literature” (Chicago Sun-Times)—about seven adults who return to their hometown to confront a nightmare they had first stumbled on as teenagers…an evil without a name: It.
Welcome to Derry, Maine. It’s a small city, a place as hauntingly familiar as your own hometown. Only in Derry the haunting is real.
They were seven teenagers when they first stumbled upon the horror. Now they are grown-up men and women who have gone out into the big world to gain success and happiness. But the promise they made twenty-eight years ago calls them reunite in the same place where, as teenagers, they battled an evil creature that preyed on the city’s children. Now, children are being murdered again and their repressed memories of that terrifying summer return as they prepare to once again battle the monster lurking in Derry’s sewers.
Readers of Stephen King know that Derry, Maine, is a place with a deep, dark hold on the author. It reappears in many of his books, including Bag of Bones, Hearts in Atlantis, and 11/22/63. But it all starts with It.
“Stephen King’s most mature work” (St. Petersburg Times), “It will overwhelm you…to be read in a well-lit room only” (Los Angeles Times).
It or IT may refer to: It (pronoun), in English Information technology..

Just finished reading “It,” and holy guacamole. It’s terrifying, romantic at times, humorous and most of all captivating. It’s a complex, long read with random flashbacks and with multiple narrators that can cause confusion easily if you aren’t paying attention but it adds an element of reality and emotional connection that is both enchanting and challenging. The book really strings you along for a long “coming-of-age” story that is beautifully explained at the end and gives you what you want and need. Pennywise the clown is brilliant, terrifying and complacent. The concept of “It” shapeshifting to the characters deepest fears beyond the clown allows for the reader (us) to subconsciously think about our own deepest fears and how Pennywise may play on that. While that is not implicitly stated, it is my opinion and added that extra element of horror and connection to the characters and their plight. It is a long read and quite challenging, but it puts you right at the epicenter of the confusion of childhood, love and gives you a little taste of insanity. Definitely recommend the read and worth EVERY Penny(wise). 55
I’ve never seen the movies, but I doubt they could hold a candle to this novel. Incredible, totally worth the investment of time reading It. 55
Ok first off, great sample. I haven’t read the whole book but just the 361 page sample already has me hooked. If your parents don’t what you to read this it is understandable because there is A LOT of cussing and very homophonic comments. Along with a few murders and some cases of self harm and sucide (I don’t know how to spell it so sorry if it’s spelled wrong) If your parents do let you I personally think you’ll love this thriller. Also can we give a round of applause for Stephen King, the wonderful King of Horror. Thank you if you read this all 💭❤❤💭❤❤💭 ❤💚💛❤💛💚❤ ❤💜💛💙💛💜❤ 💭❤💜💛💜❤💭 💭💭❤💚❤💭💭 💭💭💭❤💭💭💭 we love Stephen King!!!! Also, I’m only 13 and probably shouldn’t have read this but whateva 🙃 55
A timeless read that changed the way we viewed horror via literature. 55
has way more details then the movie and is👌🏽🤘🏽❤️ 55
There is no better way to describe this book than intense this book has alot of exciting emotional violent, gore concepts. The narrator must have lot of creativity tragic and upbeat ways to deliver the message and tone of what he is writing , because normally I do not read lot of Stephen king books but I read It and numerously I had felt amazed with excitement. However I am 16 and noticed this is not the book for most kids and, mainly those types of kids who have not meet maturity. Cause I have seen both the movie now and the Minnie series and I am overly excited for the new movie chapter 2 and both versions are not as explicit as the book.If you are a person down right likest intensity no matter what the cause or likes more mature skary stories then I would recommend it. But if you are the person who does not conferable with explicit violence sex, language etc then this book might be to intense for you. 55

Let me get something straight my mom doesn’t let me watch/read too graphic stuff. So, to sneak in some Stephen King I read the sample. Holy. Flippin. Cow. Stephen, you have outdone yourself. Just reading it I got the chills. Everything about the book is great. The storyline, the characters, the humor… honestly I have no complaints Mr. King. You are my idol. I never thought I could be so scared so quick. Good job. Big fan. P.S... if you are Stephen King or not... don’t listen to the haters. Listen to the fans. And as the odd1sout always says… wear your seatbelt. 55
Wow is all I can say! It took me a while to read it because it is a big book, but once I got halfway through I couldn’t stop! 100x better than the movies and the story is just amazing in my opinion. You really get to see into the life of the kids and as they are adults too and Stephen King really goes into depth about the whole ordeal. You’ll never guess what It’s true form is! 55
I've watched the movies several times and recently watched the newest one. Which led me to check out the book. I couldn't believe what I was missing when I read the book, absolutely amazing...and chilling 55
The book is amazing and so is the movie. I prefer the old classic from the new one but they are both amazing movies overall. Bravo Stephen King another great literary masterpiece. 55
I have taken years reading and re-reading this book and love it each and every time that I do! The way that it weaves the characters experiences and lesson's learned is extraordinary!! This is a story to inspire many for years to come! 55
