Every time I start to put down roots, I rip them up.

Full of fire and life. An innocent where I’m a sinner.
I want to consume her. Protect her. Keep her.
But first, I have to escape from beneath these shadows.

Love this book! Keeps you interested from beginning to end. Almost impossible to set down! 55
I love me a good smutty romance, but I'm picky. Most romances are all the same same same and it gets boring and redundant. After reading the reviews of this one, I was hopeful it would be great but ultimately I was let down. It was just another of the same. I liked the relationships developed between the friends in this book (frankly I liked all the friends more than I liked Eden herself), there were a few good plot twists, and some good elements to the story, but I quickly grew annoyed with Eden's internal dialogue and was disappointed that the story lost its originality about 1/3 of the way through. I was overall bored with the sameness and I'm putting this one into the growing pile of dime-a-dozen romances. If you like the typical story of the naive innocent girl trying to find herself who isn't smart enough to put two and two together yet gets swept away by a hot muscled man, then you'll love this book. If you want more and better, then you'll be disappointed. 35
Great series. Love the running characters. 55
Another well done book, could not put it down a must read 55
Eden and Bishop... There are tons of things that I could say about this book that would be great and make you want to read this book, but I just cant seem to put them into words that would do these characters justice. When I read this blurb, it didn't give me much to go off of, so I was a little worried- I shouldn't have been! This is one amazingly written book that tells an amazing story about the lives of two different people who come together in a time of distress to seek comfort from the other (yes, that type of comfort ;-) but also the friendship kind too). If you are looking for a book that has love, friendship, lies and deceit, betrayal, a quarky old woman, hot sexy times- then this is the book for you to read! You will love and you don't even need to read the first five books; you should, but you don't need to... Now, GO READ! 55
I love the Beneath Series but Bishop and Eden WOW! Couldn't put it down! 😍 55
I have only recently found Meghan March books and she has very quickly become one of my favorite authors!!! Beneath These Shadows is a book that will keep your attention from the very first word till the very last! And you'll be wishing for the nickname "Cupcake"!!! Love love love this book!!!!! 55
This is my first book by the author and I was pleasantly surprised. I loved that the story was set in New Orleans and was intrigued by the background of Bishop and Eden. There was a nice slow burn surrounding the characters which drove the story nicely. Bishop is a tattoo artist and manages Voodoo Ink. He has secrets and has never wanted to settle with anyone. Eden is temporarily relocated in New Orleans. She has secrets and should lay low but she's in New Orleans during Mardi Gras and she wants to live a little. So these two meet and have a connection. They are total opposites- Bishop is inked and broody and Eden is sweet and naive- but it works for them. But with secret, they eventually come out and usually chaos follows. I loved that this story also included family and friends that have a connection with Bishop. They are there to help with these two and it was a part of the story that created a family component that I adore in stories. It definitely makes me want to read the stories prior to this book. I found the story flowed well, I liked the beginning and loved when Eden and Bishop finally got together and then the ending turned a little wild and crazy. The story is told in his and her POV which is always an added bonus to get into the heads of both characters. Overall, I liked the story. I will definitely read more Meghan March in the future. 35
5 Stars Beneath These Shadows by Meghan March is the sixth book in the Beneath Series. It is a standalone novel but I really suggest reading the others in the series because they were fantastic! This series just keeps getting better and better, and Meghan March continues to grow as a writer. Bishop and Eden’s story is filled with pain, heartache, loss, and most importantly love. Eden is the daughter of a mobster who is making her leave New York temporarily. With having been kept sheltered, she wants to really live and enjoy her time away. Choosing New Orleans as her destination, she wasn't expecting the craziness of Mardi Gras and of meeting a sexy tattoo artist who keeps saving her. The instant attraction she feels and the way he protects her, throws her off balance. She knows he wants her but he refuses to give in. Bishop is a ladies man which is also problem...so will Eden be able to tempt him into changing his mind? Bishop has been on his own for a long time. Never staying in one place too long, he goes from city to city never laying down any type of roots. Meeting Eden has put him on edge. He wants her but doesn't. His will power is slowly weakening when both his and Eden’s past collides in a way that could destroy them. Will they be able to move forward? Or will their pasts ruin any future they might've had? You'll have to read it to find out!!! WOW!!! I loved this book. It truly blew me away. Meghan March has an incredible imagination that not only draws you into her fictional world but makes you crave more. The characters are multidimensional and you can't help but fall in love with them. Bishop and Eden both stole my heart and I cannot wait to see what's next for this author! 55
It was gooooood to be back in NOLA! 6th standalone in this series. It's without a doubt my favorite series to date and I always squee a little when I find out there's more. I've wanted a Bishop book since he was first introduced in Beneath These Chains. He intrigued me further in Beneath These Scars when he was described as "It’s the newer guy. Bishop. He’s a sexy beast of a man. That man bun. Seriously hot." I have a not-so-secret love for everything man bun, so I knew I needed Bishop's story from early on. And of course, Meghan doesn't disappoint. These two characters were stubborn from the start. One needing to spread their wings, and one trying to make sure the other is safe. So you can imagine the power struggle. They butted heads around every corner (literally, every corner on the streets of New Orleans.) But let me tell you, when they give into their urges, sparks flew. As always, it's the perfect amount of sexy as sin and on the edge of your seat. Another great story from this author! 55
This was such a fun read! It can also be read as a standalone, although trust me, once you read this you'll want to hit up the rest of the books in the series. As with the rest of the Beneath Series, this one is set in New Orleans, during Mardi Gras and I just find that to be such a lively setting! The book focuses on Bishop, a tattoo artist we have heard mentioned before. He is big, tatted up, complete with a beard and a manbun. And he is as closed off as it comes, living on his own terms and rebuffing any type of romantic attachments...until Eden. Eden, for reasons you'll have to read the book to figure out, is in New Orleans for the first time and trying to keep a low profile. But she's a magnet for trouble and imagine her suprise when Bishop's the one always coming to her aid. She's sweet and naive; he's cynical and prickly. They shouldn't work, but their relationship just brought a big smile to my face. It was just the perfect kind of slow build; from reluctant friends to something much more. I beyond enjoyed this book and Meghan March's writing. This one was one of the more standout books of this series. Aside from Eden's naivity (which drove me crazy more than a few times) I really have no complaints for this book. I especially loved all the cameos from the previous couple's in the series. This book will be enjoyable for both new and old fan's of the Beneath series! 2 likes · 55
The Beneath series is one of my favorites. While this book can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the rest of the books. I was smiling most of the time while reading, and when I wasn't, I was on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen. Eden finds her way to New Orleans and into Bishop's arms. They both have a lot of baggage and secrets to hide. Bishop has earned a spot near the top of my book boyfriend list. Meghan certainly knows how to write her heroes. He is alpha without being over the top. I found Eden to be likable. She had a hidden strength about her. 55
Holy cow, this book blew me away!!!! It had it ALL!!!! A sexy hero and heroine, action packed story and heat that melts the pages! I loved this book! This is the first book I've read by this author, but it won't be the last. In fact, I need to go back and read the rest of this series! Bishop is a loner who has run from people who may or may not find him his whole life. He never considered settling any one place. When he saves Eden for the first time, he can't explain how he is drawn to her. Eden is a sheltered girl who has now found herself in New Orleans during Marti Gras where nothing good can happen to her. From the first time he sees her, Bishop feels the need to protect Eden and is drawn to her energy and light. Eden has never met anyone like Bishop, but he intrigues her. She knows she isn't in town for too long, but someone like Bishop might make her fight to stay. This story had so much in it. The characters from the other books make an appearance and I loved them all and can't wait to go and read their stories as well. Bishop grabbed my heart early on and I loved to watch him fall big time for Eden. This has been one of my favorite recent reads! Loved it! 55
