Nora Roberts, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the epic Year One returns with Of Blood and Bone, a new tale of terror and magick in a brand new world.
They look like an everyday family living an ordinary life. But beyond the edges of this peaceful farm, unimaginable forces of light and dark have been unleashed.
Fallon Swift, approaching her thirteenth birthday, barely knows the world that existed before—the city where her parents lived, now in ruins and reclaimed by nature since the Doom sickened and killed billions. Traveling anywhere is a danger, as vicious gangs of Raiders and fanatics called Purity Warriors search for their next victim. Those like Fallon, in possession of gifts, are hunted—and the time is coming when her true nature, her identity as The One, can no longer be hidden.
In a mysterious shelter in the forest, her training is about to begin under the guidance of Mallick, whose skills have been honed over centuries. She will learn the old ways of healing; study and spar; encounter faeries and elves and shifters; and find powers within herself she never imagined. And when the time is right, she will take up the sword, and fight. For until she grows into the woman she was born to be, the world outside will never be whole again.

Good book!! But a bit confused, was this the ending, or are there more books to come?? 45
Wonderful read, just wish the next book in this series was out! Looking forward to it. 55
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The sign of a good book is its ability to captivate the reader from start to finish; as well as, making the reader laugh and cry in segments of the book. This book did all that and more. I cannot wait for the third book (‘Rise of the Magicks’) and hope it’s an exciting and entrancing conclusion to this trilogy, as only Nora Roberts can do. 55
It's a great add-on to the prior book. Arguably could be a stand alone read, but it's not worth skipping the first book. This series doesn't have what can be meandering depth of other fantasy series, but is itself a driving story which is enrapturing to the reader. I can't wait until the next one comes out. 55
Loved the story, I have read all of Nora’s book and although this is not her typical story style loved it. The first book took me a while to get to and once I started it finished quickly, this one I read in two days. It captivates you the way Fallon and all the characters tell the story, can’t wait until December to see the end and what happens with Fallon and Duncan! Would love it if this became a movie series 😊 55
I have read all Nora Roberts books. This trilogy is really not what you would expect from reading her other books. Took me awhile to finish because it just did not hold my attention. I enjoy suspenseful romance novels. This is more like Stephen King. Not a big fan of those kind of books. Looking forward to more of her older style of written. Hope she comes out with a better book soon. 35
I feel as if we are running out of new ideas and stories to tell, and have detoured into derivative narratives. Particularly zombie genre tv series with the magic supplied a la Harry Potter wizardry. Vaguely disappointing. 25
This series has captivated me. I can’t wait for the next book. And i really don’t want to wait another year for the next one!! 55
So good! I wasn’t ready for the end and I can’t wait for the next book! 55
We can do dinner no 45
