"People do not want to just read Meyer's books; they want to climb inside them and live there." -- Time
"A literary phenomenon." -- New York Times
The midnight sun is a natural phenomenon that occurs in the summer months in places north of the Arctic Circle or south of the Antarctic Circle, when the sun remains visible at the local midnight. When the midnight sun is seen in the Arctic, the sun appears to move from left to right, but in Antarctica the equivalent apparent motion is from right to left. This occurs at latitudes from 65°44' to 90° north or south doesn't stop exactly at Arctic Circle or Antarctic Circle because of refraction. ..
This is exactly what i have been waiting for. I can only hope there will be more in the future but if not this is enough for me i love this series 55
Where to start! I’m 76% done with this book and I really want to just not finish it, but I’m not a quitter! Plus I’m loyal! I LOVED the first 4 books! Not the movies, but the books! However THIS BOOK! “SHOCK FACE” I read the portion that got leaked a few years back and was so excited. I really enjoyed it! But THIS?? I don’t find THAT in this! We think we want to hear Edwards thoughts but that must have been in theory! This portrayal of Edward makes him LAME and pathetic! He goes ON AND ON AND ON about NOTHING! I finally just started skipping through which is a bummer because I’m sure I probably missed SOMETHING good in there as I was skipping! But I just can’t do his endless self abasement and over thinking, page after page after page! It’s as if because we wanted to hear “some of his thoughts” they got shoved down our throats and now we’re gaging into them! I’m sorry to be so harsh, but I was THRILLED when I found out the book was coming out and so let down at this point. Edward is no longer sexy he’s pathetic! Please fix him in New Moon! And while you’re at it, please redo the movies! I know I sound like I’m just a hater, genuinely I’m not! I love the books, have read them several times and though I don’t like what the directors did with the movies, I have watched them more than once even recently because they hold a place in my heart! 25
This book totally took me back to the first meeting of Edward and Bella. It was exciting to revisit all the memories but from Edwards perspective. I fell in love with the vampire all over again. 55
Better than Bella. 55
Thank you Stephanie for finishing this. I was furious when you were betrayed and hurt. I waited until you had decided not to contribute and you released your unedited version to read the beginning all those years ago and it was my now 14 year old daughter who told me that this was coming. (She has read my copies of the saga recently). Like the others, I could not put it down for long, great job! Cori in Waco, TX 55
Great insight into the characters! 55
This was an amazing book. It was well worth the wait. Thank you Stephenie for sharing your amazing talent. I loved jumping back into the world of Vampires. 55
When I first began to read the Twilight saga I was 12 years old. Now of course my adolescent-self did not realize how strange the romantic realtionship between an introverted 17 year old girl and a 108 year old self-loathing killer was, but the gloomy love story always intrigued me and most likely shaped my developing style throughout my teenage years. Even though I knew the story I still found myself rapidly consuming this book. Can Edwards self-hatred get tiresome? Yes. Are a considerable amount of his actions argueably creepy and obsessive? Yes. Do Bella and Edward dive into this romantic relationship at a rate that comes off as immature? Yes. But all in all, if you look at these characters as teenagers experiencing first love the actions seem to be less off-putting and more endearing. Not to mention how this book allows the reader to mindread with Edward which I thought was pretty cool. So, if you grew up reading the twilight saga and some part of your childhood self still loves the world Stephenie Meyer created, I’d say you’d most likely enjoy this book. Even though the chances of more books in Edward's perspective are slim, I would love to see them! 45
I’ve gotta say, I didn’t expect this book to be good. I didn’t think that anymore could be added to the Twilight series without just being a run-on, but this book answered so many questions. Plus, all the times you wondered “what is Edward thinking?”, now you know. I hope that she does this for the rest of the series, and no offense to any hard-core Bella fans, but I liked Edwards story better. I felt it was more thought out, and that we really felt just how much pain Edward was in every day. This book definitely was a good purchase, and an even better read. 55
Edward has a fast-paced mind. His world is action-packed and suspenseful while he manages to keep a human pace for Bella. 55
I absolutely loved this book. I couldn’t stop reading it. I’m dying to read the rest of the series from Edward’s point of view. Amazing read - I loved every second of it. 55
This was nice. There was always a side of the story missing and we finally got some of it. Mind you, JUST SOME. But this makes me so excited to binge the next book, and then the next book, and then the next. You will be surprised. You will be amazed. You will find some understanding. And you will not regret purchasing and reading. Don’t be fooled, you DON’T know the whole story... well, at least not until you read this book for some. 55
This book is like no other! I love that Stephanie chose to write from Edward’s point of view! Fans have been waiting for this and we finally have it! Now we need one from Jacobs’s point of view! That would be so cool! 55
Midnight Sun was amazing it was written so well i could truly visualize the madness in Edward’s mind ! Give me more please 😩 especially a Renesmee update 55
I’m sorry to admit, I was one of the hardcore fans that read the leaked script years ago. I know it was a blow for SM, but I couldn’t get enough! I read the leaked chapters plus some fan fiction that continued where she left off. This book was definitely worth the wait and even better than I’d hoped. Thank you, Stephanie, for finally finishing it!!! It’s truly a gift. 💕 55
I fell in love with Alice and gained so much more respect for Bella. This book is Twilight, don’t get your hopes up that anything different will happen, but get ready to get a different perspective of the ALL the characters and understand the world much clearer. I fell in love with Alice and Edwards relationship he goes in depth about how she truly feels not just what Bella can see on the surface. I also had a new respect for Jasper, he is much stronger than anyone of us could imagine. And Bella, it was always hard to read twilight because I felt Bella was always begging Edward to stay and that she was very submissive in what came off as a slightly abusive relationship with Edwards need for control. I realized Bella was much stronger, insightful, and genius than Edward let her feel. (Which if your in a toxic relationship it may give you confidence to breakup with that person) Edward viewed Bella in such a Grand light, I use to feel as Bella in twilight “why does Edward want a child human that he is so much older than, ofcourse he doesn’t love me the same” but Bella brought so much life into his life I realized Bella was the prize not Edward and it encouraged me to read ALL the books again with that perspective. 55
I wish she would write the rest of the series from Edwards POV!!! I couldn’t put it down!!!! 55
Don’t listen to the negative reviews. They all talk about how it’s the same story than Twilight. Of course it’s the same story. Since it was announced it said it was the same Twilight story except now it was Edward’s POV. We got to see so much of the Cullen’s than we did in Twilight. We got so much insight on what went on in the Cullen family when Bella wasn’t present. It was an absolute joy to read. 55
I ordered this book hard copy right when it came out. I grew up watching and reading all of the Twilight series stuff because my mother was in her early twenties and loved the fantasy romance series with all her friends. I’ve grown to love these books no matter what anyone says. I have to say the beginning seems a little slow but maybe that’s because I want Edward with Bella right away. It’s truly fantasizing to see everything from Edwards perspective. Since Edward can hear minds you can read what all of Bella’s friends are thinking and actually see the bonds between everyone to her. I 10/10 recommend this book if you love the original twilight series. I may only be 16 but even I can tell a good book from a bad book. 55
I read the first Twilight book as a heartbroken teenager, before the rest of the series was written. I would read it cover to cover over and over again to cope with my tumultuous adolescent hormones. I’ve been waiting so long for this book, and it did not disappoint. Edward’s meticulous perspective was an immersive reading experience, it took me right back to my first time reading. This story has everything the most die hard Twilight fans could want, thank you for finally giving us this gift! I won’t lie and say I don’t wish we had the whole series from his side, but I know that writing New Moon would mean Stephenie has to go into a very dark place. If it doesn’t happen, this is enough. I loved every word. 55
