It was a dark and stormy night; Meg Murry, her small brother Charles Wallace, and her mother had come down to the kitchen for a midnight snack when they were upset by the arrival of a most disturbing stranger.
"Wild nights are my glory," the unearthly stranger told them. "I just got caught in a downdraft and blown off course. Let me sit down for a moment, and then I'll be on my way. Speaking of ways, by the way, there is such a thing as a tesseract."
A tesseract (in case the reader doesn't know) is a wrinkle in time. To tell more would rob the reader of the enjoyment of Miss L'Engle's unusual book. A Wrinkle in Time, winner of the Newbery Medal in 1963, is the story of the adventures in space and time of Meg, Charles Wallace, and Calvin O'Keefe (athlete, student, and one of the most popular boys in high school). They are in search of Meg's father, a scientist who disappeared while engaged in secret work for the government on the tesseract problem. A Wrinkle in Time is the winner of the 1963 Newbery Medal.
A Wrinkle in Time is a science fantasy novel written by American writer Madeleine L'Engle, first published in 1962. The book won the Newbery Medal, Sequoyah Book Award, and Lewis Carroll Shelf Award, and was runner-up for the Hans Christian Andersen Award. It is the first book in L'Engle's Time Quintet, which follows the Murrys and Calvin O'Keefe. The book spawned two film adaptations, both by Disney: a 2003 television film directed by John Kent Harrison, and a 2018 theatrical film directed by Ava DuVernay...
It’s really confusing until you get to the part where they go to Camazoz you may not really understand it.I don’t get the ending! But it’s a ok book not bad. This is a 10 year olds review. 35
In my opinion, this book is excellent. If you like to read a good fantasy, you should start to read it. I would recommend reading this book to my friends because it is an exciting story. Also, the author used an excellent language and a good vocabulary. This book teaches us to never give up in stressful situations. 55
One of my childhood favorites still stands as I just finished reading it as an adult. 55
It’s different from any other book I’ve read and I really like it like a lot 55

I read this book in 1984 when I was nine... It is by far my all time favorite book. And I am just waiting for the day when my son is old enough to read it on his own, I think it's more magical when you read it yourself than when it's read to you. He is seven now and a fantastic reader...so I am hoping he will be ready to tackle it very soon! 55
"A Wrinkle in Time" was the best book I ever read, and the best movie I ever saw!!!!!!! (yes, there is a movie for it.) I just wanna read it over and over again!!!!!!!!!!!! 55

Great read. I really appreciate the science gone into it as well. Very fascinating and keeps you interested. I just wish that there was a slight bit more science and a tiny bit less fantasy. Would even it out perfectly. 45
I read this book with my daughter. We couldn't put it down. Wonderful story about true love for your family. We really enjoyed it. 55
