An Instant Classic and One of the Great Love Stories of Our Time

Andre Aciman's Call Me by Your Name is the story of a sudden and powerful romance that blossoms between an adolescent boy and a summer guest at his parents’ cliffside mansion on the Italian Riviera. Each is unprepared for the consequences of their attraction, when, during the restless summer weeks, unrelenting currents of obsession, fascination, and desire intensify their passion and test the charged ground between them. Recklessly, the two verge toward the one thing both fear they may never truly find again: total intimacy. It is an instant classic and one of the great love stories of our time.

Simply beautiful.5 star

This book is beautifully written. It is so moving, so realistic. It's brought me to tears multiple times and reminds me of my own first love experience. It is officially my favorite book of all time as is the movie. The ending ripped my heart out in all honesty, as it did with the film adaptation. But they are both so perfectly, amazingly done and I recommend them to everyone. 55

Elio, Oliver, Elio, Oliver...5 star

I am broken5 star

This is one of the most amazing books I have read in a long time. It was so raw and real. It has broken me but I would do it all again. I cannot explain to you how easily I fell in love with this book. The choice of words and the structure of the story is so perfect. It made me laugh, cringe, cry. All in all I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. I adore the story, characters, words. It is simply a beautiful piece of art. 55

True Art5 star

This book will capture you in its childlike feelings and pure desire. I’ve read this book three times and it still gives me the same feeling it did the first time I read it. This feeling that slowly becomes a hole in your heart that your fine with cause filling it would mean replacing it with something nowhere near as beautiful, wonderful, and sensational as this book. I will always remember the first and last page of this book cause who I was at the beginning was not who I became by the end and I’m great full for this book helping allow myself to wonder and feel and lust for just a little while. Thank you André Aciman for this piece of art. 55

A poem almost too abstract to start turning into one too beautiful to end. 55

Really good read5 star

I just love this book. The way that the writer wrote this is phenomenal! I felt everything and somehow related to the story. This book is very sexual. Yes, but not like 50 shades sexual. Very enticing and intriguing! Highly recommend! And also there’s a movie coming out so I suggest reading this before seeing the motion picture. It gives you a deeper understanding of the characters. 55

My favorite book to date.5 star

Be prepared to lose yourself entirely in this poignant romance. You will smile, sob uncontrollably, and treasure this novel forever. It has altered my soul and touched my heart in ways I never knew possible. Listen to the film soundtrack while reading, and you will find yourself lost to Elio’s beautiful narration. Elio and Oliver’s connection is one we dream of finding, and I will no doubt find myself rereading this beautiful and timeless tale as soon as I finish writing this review. 55

No words5 star

I’m speechless. This story resounds so deeply with me that it’s borderline terrifying. I’m not satisfied, and In a way I guess, to me at least, that was the point of it all. I refuse to accept it but then again that’s my problem alone. Anyway really good book. Have tissues ready by the way. 55

A Love Story For The Ages5 star

It is absolutely amazing. I’ve never experienced happiness, sadness, love, and loss all in one book. What a masterpiece! 55

The Best Book Ever5 star

I love reading a lot, I constantly read different books, but this one did something none did. It touched my soul and moved me, reading my mind and bringing my fantasy life and depiction of love into text. As a gay man, this touched me so much, I cried when I finished the book as well as when there were parts that I felt I was able to relate to. This book will have a special place in my heart and it just helped me figure things out, especially because Elio thinks and acts the way I do when it comes to love. I haven't found love yet and I still wait for it, but I definitely know it's out there because this book proves love exists. Overall, this book touched my soul and will make one believe in love. 55

Where to begin….5 star

This is one of the most captivating, well-written books I have ever read. It is more than just a love story, it is insight into the human heart, relationships, vulnerability, and losing one’s self in another person. Andre Aciman skillfully weaves his words into a beautiful tapestry that unfolds in the mind’s eye until the very fabric of it is woven into the reader’s heart. Few books have impacted me the way this one has. It is profoundly beautiful! 55

Heartbreaking yet liberating.5 star

I had to read the whole book in one sitting. A perfectly sunny Saturday morning stretched into the afternoon while the whole house was quiet and just the cats pattering around. Many of his verses brought me to tears. It’s quite a powerful narrative of longing and parting. I can’t wait to see the movie. 55
