A Family Affair

A Family Affair is where it all began...Heartache, Betrayal, Forgiveness, Redemption...all wrapped up in the people you will love to love, and those you will love to hate!

When Christine Blacksworth’s larger-than-life father is killed on an icy road in Magdalena, New York, a hundred miles from the “getaway” cabin he visited every month, she discovers a secret that threatens everything she’s always held to be true. Her father has another family that includes a mistress and a daughter. Determined to uncover the truth behind her father’s secret life, Christine heads to Magdalena, prepared to hate the people who have caused her to question everything she thought she knew about her father. But what she finds is a woman who understands her, a half-sister who cherishes her, and a man who could love her if she’ll let him. The longer she’s around them, the more she questions which family is the real one.

A non reader review

A Family Affair4 star

What a great read! It’s the best captivating book I’ve read in a long while. Some points were predictable but non the less an amazing page turner. Can’t wait to start the next book! 45

A family affair4 star

Tension builds as family relationships are revealed with contrasts between wealthy urbanites and those struggling financially in cities and small towns. Some resolutions are quite predictable while others surprise. Nice hook at the end to entice readers into the next volume in the series. I appreciated that the book was well edited without distracting errors. 45

This story is different than most, and I think that is why it is so interesting. It is a story about learning forgiveness, and how unexpected love, make two families come together. Definitely worth reading. 55

Very contrived. Romanticized the duplicitous act of adultery. Very predictable. Not worth the read. 25

Wonderful story. Beautifully written. 55

Great Read4 star

What drew me into this story was the cover. Who doesn't like the thought of a bright, snowy day? It gave me warm fuzzies inside. As I began to read this book, I was surprised by the beginning, entrapped by the plot as it moved forward, and satisfied with the end. It is nicely written and although a strange story with all things considered, it's also a nice story about love. In fact, I wanted to be a part of the Desantro family by the end of this book! I recommended reading it if you're looking for a story that provides comfort (with a little bit of sass. ;) 45

Good, but not a traditional romance.3 star

Good story, but the "romance" was only a small subplot. 35

Don't miss out5 star

A GREAT READ!!!!!!!! 55

A must read!5 star

This book is absolutely wonderful. It's not predictable and that's why you just can't put it down. Every event has you questioning what may happen next! I really enjoyed the story. 55

Touched by emotion.5 star

I do have to say I loved every second of reading this book. It kept me hanging off the edge of my seat as I read on. It truly show the emotions that everyone goes thought everyday with most families. It also showed me a new way to look at things and not be so selfish. I could stop reading and hoped it would not end. Keep up the good work and good luck on the second book. I feel everyone should read it to learn something new about life and just for the enjoyment. 55

Good read5 star

I really enjoyed this book. I found myself having wishes and expectations for the characters. Gloria sounds like Lucille, the matriarch on "Arrested Development", less vaudeville. I love her. She's awesome, though she probably isn't everyone's first choice for a favorite character. She's a tough broad and I like those women who inhabit that station in life, and make the best of it and nevah, nevah, drop the dignity and grace. Thank you, Ms. Campisi, for a delicious, comfortable read. 55

Great5 star

This book is very intriguing and captivating. It's heart felt and suspenseful , every page taking you closer to the answer of mystery read pages before. 55
