J.R. Ward's # 1 New York Times bestselling Black Dagger Brotherhood continues as a royal bloodline is compromised by a grave threat to the throne.
Long live the King…
After turning his back on the throne for centuries, Wrath, son of Wrath, finally assumed his father’s mantle--with the help of his beloved mate. But the crown sets heavily on his head. As the war with the Lessening Society rages on, and the threat from the Band of Bastards truly hits home, he is forced to make choices that put everything--and everyone--at risk.
Beth Randall thought she knew what she was getting into when she mated the last pure blooded vampire on the planet: An easy ride was not it. But when she decides she wants a child, she’s unprepared for Wrath’s response--or the distance it creates between them.
The question is, will true love win out... or tortured legacy take over?
The King most often refers to a king. The term may refer to:..
I absolutely love all your books since I picked up my very first one when I Glover came out is when I fell in love with the serious my favorite characters Beth wrath, I felt like an all your books that I'm part of the book that when the characters are celebrating I'm right there celebrating with them I absolutely enjoyed this reading and reading about my favorite characters again had tears of joy in my eyes!! 55
Just another in the list of amazing books in this series! Great read with loads of adventure and romance. I've loved every book in this series that I've read and can't wait to read more by this extraordinary author. 55
I didn't know what to expect in The King, but wow, it wasn't this story. Guess that's why I read and don't write! I can't say enough about this episode in the BDB, I just didn't want this story to end. I hate that I have to wait for the next one, but at the same time I wouldn't want to have her rush and put out anything less the her best. Thank you J R Ward. 55
I'm a total fan of the black dagger brotherhood series....with that being said I can say without a shadow of doubt that this book the king was by far the worst! I mean I barely got through it....totally cheesy and boring.... I think that J.R. has run out of options for the brothers. 15
More please... 55
The King was awesome. I had no problems following the shift between characters in the sub-stories because the writing was fantastic. I can't wait for The Shadows or Assail and Sola's story. 45
I was a little hesitant about reading this one. I was afraid she had ruined Beth and Wrath for me. But it was awesome. I loved their development. J.R still left us hanging with so many couples, but I guess we have to wait for the next book, right? Well she better write fast! The waiting is agony!! 55
I was skipping pages left and right, so much was irrelevant, repetitive and boring.....although I have felt that way about the last few....this series has lost my interest 15
Good book. Loved to read their continuing story. 45
Though not my favorite of these books - and to be honest, I skipped through a few chapters - I was very happy with the outcome. But as usual there are many story lines left unfinished: I'm still waiting for the Band of Brothers to get their act together and join/work with the Brotherhood. We have yet to hear how Leila's pregnancy and strange interest in Xcor will pan out. And WHEN will John be "reunited" with Darius?! I'm tired of the tease! 45
