From the bestselling, Edgar Award–winning author of the “terrifically good” (The New York Times) Red Sparrow, a compulsively readable new novel about star-crossed Russian agent Dominika Egorova and CIA's Nate Nash in a desperate race to the finish.
Captain Dominika Egorova of the Russian Intelligence Service (SVR) has returned from the West to Moscow. She despises the men she serves, the oligarchs, and crooks, and thugs of Putin’s Russia. What no one knows is that Dominika is working for the CIA as Washington’s most sensitive penetration of SVR and the Kremlin.
As she expertly dodges exposure, Dominika deals with a murderously psychotic boss; survives an Iranian assassination attempt; escapes a counterintelligence ambush; rescues an arrested agent and exfiltrates him out of Russia; and has a chilling midnight conversation in her nightgown with President Putin. Complicating these risks is the fact that Dominika is in love with her CIA handler, Nate Nash, and their lust is as dangerous as committing espionage in Moscow. And when a mole in the SVR finds Dominika’s name on a restricted list of sources, it is a virtual death sentence…
Just as fast-paced, heart-pounding, and action-packed as Red Sparrow, Jason Matthews’s second novel confirms he is “an insider’s insider…and a masterful storyteller” (Vince Flynn, #1 New York Times bestselling author).
Palace of Treason book summary coming soon..
Palace of Treason is fantastic sequel to Red Sparrow. Mr. Matthews makes the characters come alive. I found myself on the edge of my seat during the exfil of the old Russian. Both Palace of Treason & Red Sparrow would make great movies. Looking forward to your next project. 55
A very good page turner edge of your seat read. Jason Matthews does not disappoint. I did not want the book to end. Looking forward to the next Domi/Nate/Gable/Benford tale. 55
Fantastic books. Good story and strong characters. 55
Better than red sparrow, if that's possible. The best two books I've read in a long long long time. 55
I enjoyed the story but as for Mr Matthews' writing style I'm afraid he didn't adhere to Mark Twain's quote “Don't use a five-dollar word when a fifty-cent word will do.” I thought the word play was a bit convoluted 35
I read Red Sparrow and the Palace of Treason, both are exceptional readings that i recommend to all. The writing is captivating and held my interest completely. I can't wait for Jason's next book. Congratulations on two fantastic books, and thank you for producing such excellent stories. 55
Fantastic book! I haven't written a glowing review in quite some time. This book was very exciting, convincing, smart and well written. With so much formulaic drivel available today, this book was truly a breath of fresh air! It is so nice to discover an author who is intelligent, informed, interesting and capable of creating an exciting story based on a believable premise and well developed characters. Khorosho!! 55
Let me begin by saying I am a huge fan of Vince Flynn, Brad Thor CIA, spec ops thrillers, but Jason Matthews authentic CIA spy novels are brilliant and a refreshing change from the typical super black ops assassin novels that are very common these days. Matthew spent over 30 years as a CIA case officer and that experience is evident in his writing. This book as was his previous novel red sparrow have plenty of action and authenticity of the spy game. Characters are fully developed with as many layers as an onion. I can't wait to see Matthews to Brooks on the big screen. 55
Love the characters, love the writing - can't wait for the next book! A true pleasure to read. 55
Hard to put this novel down. Like 'Red Sparrow' it took only a few pages of reading to realize that 'Palace of Treason' would be a tour de force! Great character building, fast action, often humorous, and always seducing the reader along to the next exciting situation. Well done Jason Matthews. And the recipes that my wife (a chef) and I have tried are tasty and different! Thanks. 06/03/15. BEV Delray Beach, Fl 55
