From the bestselling author of Crazy Rich Asians (Now a MAJOR MOTION PICTURE) comes a deliciously fun story of family, fortune, and fame in Mainland China.
Book Two of the Crazy Rich Asians Trilogy
It’s the eve of Rachel Chu’s wedding, and she should be over the moon. She has a flawless Asscher-cut diamond, a wedding dress she loves, and a fiancé willing to thwart his meddling relatives and give up one of the biggest fortunes in Asia in order to marry her. Still, Rachel mourns the fact that her birthfather, a man she never knew, won’t be there to walk her down the aisle.
Then a chance accident reveals his identity. Suddenly, Rachel is drawn into a dizzying world of Shanghai splendor, a world where people attend church in a penthouse, where exotic cars race down the boulevard, and where people aren’t just crazy rich … they’re China rich.
China Rich Girlfriend is a 2015 novel by Kevin Kwan. It is the sequel to Crazy Rich Asians, a novel about the wealthy Singapore elite. Kwan was urged to write the sequel by his publishers after the initial success of Crazy Rich Asians. The title refers to a line in the novel in which Nick's mother, Eleanor, exclaims over the wealth of the "China rich" who are billionaires, "These people aren't just everyday rich with a few hundred million. They are China rich!"..
Just as his first, Kwan writes an amazing page turner unable to put down! The lack of a final star comes from the hype of Nick and Rachel’s relationship that seems to be missing from this book compared to his first. 45
It took me awhile to get into this book but after a couple chapters I was hooked! My bus time was filled with excitement of Rachel, Astrid, and kitty pongs comeback! Excited for the next book. Did not expect the very end. 55
Seems that during my time reading this book, I became engulfed in every chapter, that pages go by and I forget about the climax I left from the previous chapter!!! Very well placed and executed!!! 45
All these Uber wealthy stories are getting a bit over done. Kevin is a great writer who provides substantial character development BUT I’m a bit over the crazy stories and descriptions of how much this costs and how rich these people are. 35
Love this book! 55
I loved his first book and was excited for his follow up. This second book is poorly written, has ridiculous plot twists. I disliked intensely some of the characters. Don’t waste you money on this book. 15

I truly enjoyed Crazy Rich Asians; it was the best fiction book I have read in ages. Sadly, I did not like the sequel half as much. There were too many new characters and too many ridiculous plot twists. This book was lacking the cleverness and humour that the first book mastered so well. 25
...although I'm not sure if the Ayalas' pronunciation of sweetheart is like that. Lol 55
