In ninth century Pictland (Scotland), Brandr, a Viking who has lost his family is shipwrecked and is found by four year old Kimbery and her mother. Avail is the rightful heir to Rivenloch. After Viking berserkers killed her father, her brothers send her into exile with her daughter. Brandr is charmed by four year old Kimbery. Avail and Brandr carry scars and suspicions, not sure what to do next. A wonderful story; wee Kimbery will bring you laughter with her effervescent nature. 55
