INTRIGUING PLOT, FASCINATING CHARACTERS…
“Part mystery, part women’s fiction, part poetry, Mulhern’s debut, The Deep End, will draw you in with the first sentence and entrance you until the last. An engaging whodunit that kept me guessing until the end!” – Tracy Weber, Author of the Downward Dog Mysteries
Swimming into the lifeless body of her husband’s mistress tends to ruin a woman’s day, but becoming a murder suspect can ruin her whole life.
It’s 1974 and Ellison Russell’s life revolves around her daughter and her art. She’s long since stopped caring about her cheating husband, Henry, and the women with whom he entertains himself. That is, until she becomes a suspect in Madeline Harper’s death. The murder forces Ellison to confront her husband’s proclivities and his crimes—kinky sex, petty cruelties and blackmail.
As the body count approaches par on the seventh hole, Ellison knows she has to catch a killer. But with an interfering mother, an adoring father, a teenage daughter, and a cadre of well-meaning friends demanding her attention, can Ellison find the killer before he finds her?
Praise for THE DEEP END:

Really liked it! It set up quickly, moved along at a good clip, has interesting characters, and kept me guessing right up to the final few pages. This author surely has a bright future ahead. 55
This is the first book I have read by this author and it will not be the last.I enjoyed the characters, especially Ellison. It was an entertaining cozy mystery. 55
Thank you so much for writing this!! I was absolutely in love with every page! 55
I love a mystery, humor, and a touch of romance. I found them all in this cleverly well written book. 55
I've read this book twice. The first time, I enjoyed the mysterious mystery, the deeply drawn cast of believable characters, the slowly building tension (both mysterious and sexual), and prose that made me laugh out loud and want to read more. It's fun to read about the country club set mixed up with a sexy bondage queen! I reread this mystery again because the title is so catchy and it reminded me that I truly enjoyed reading this book. Upon rereading, I've decided it's now one of my favorites. The who-did-it was still surprising, the prose was better the second time around (I reread many paragraphs because they were so evocative and entertaining), and I just wanted to know the heroine better. And gosh-darn, now I've got to know if she picks either guy and/or how the 3 of them will somehow be involved in other mysterious circumstances. I'm going to read it a third time when I can read cover to cover straight through without any interruptions from daily life! Will want a Tom Collins or dirty martini in my hand! 55
I’ve read all six books now and I can’t get over how impatient I am awaiting book number seven. I find the Frases she uses unique and sometimes very funny. The stories are captivating and I thank you Julie ! 55
Great read! You can see the scene as you read! Intriguing characters that make you turn the page for the next "be careful what you ask for" bad day in the life of a great character! 55
Light, easy read with humor throughout. 45
I started reading this and couldn't put it down. Plenty of action, interesting characters, a sympathetic heroine, and an excellent whodunit. Love the 70s touches. I absolutely can't wait to get hold of the second book and see what happens next--which I thinks pretty much sums up how good the first book is. 55
